At Tefore, we design and install stunning fitted kitchens across Redditch, Bromsgrove, Droitwich, and the surrounding areas, and one thing we always keep an eye on is how kitchen trends evolve. Some styles deserve to stick around, while others… well, let’s just say we won’t miss them!
Here are our predictions for 2026 — the kitchen trends we’d love to see more of, and the ones we think should be left in 2025.
Trends We Hope Continue into 2026
1. Chef’s Pantries & Hidden Storage
Pantries have become the heart of modern kitchen design. From walk-in chef’s pantries to slim pull-out larders, homeowners are loving clever storage solutions that keep kitchens clutter-free. We expect this trend to continue well into 2026.
2. Greens & Blues That Make a Statement
Rich shades like deep green and navy blue have taken fitted kitchens by storm, and we’re here for it. These colours bring warmth, depth, and a timeless finish — especially when paired with natural textures like oak or stone.
3. Two-Tone Kitchens
Mixing colours and finishes is a trend we’d love to see more of. From bold island colours contrasted with neutral cabinets, to wood finishes paired with painted doors, two-tone kitchens add personality and style without being overwhelming.
4. Statement Islands
Islands have become more than just a prep area — they’re the hub of the home. Whether it’s extra storage, seating for family meals, or a feature worktop that stands out, statement islands are here to stay in 2026.
5. Layered Lighting
Pendant lights over islands, under-cabinet LEDs, and mood lighting are no longer extras — they’re essential. Lighting not only sets the mood but highlights key design features, and we expect this trend to continue growing.
Trends We’re Happy to Leave in 2025
1. Appliances Taking Over Worktops
We’ve all seen it — air fryers, slow cookers, and Ninja gadgets taking up every inch of surface space. While they’re handy, they ruin the flow of a beautiful kitchen design. Built-in solutions are the way forward.
2. Too Much Gloss
High gloss kitchens had their moment, but in 2025 they’ve started to feel a little dated. Softer matte finishes are now the go-to for a modern, stylish kitchen that won’t age quickly.
3. Overly Industrial Finishes
Exposed metal and raw concrete can look great in the right setting, but the harsh industrial look feels like it’s on its way out. Warmer, softer finishes are taking centre stage.
